Recently, a significant temperature drop has been observed across most parts of China. Natural gas consumption has rapidly increased in some areas.
China Petroleum's natural gas production and pipeline management companies are actively responding. Natural gas production companies are tapping into the potential of gas fields to increase gas field extraction, and are coordinating with downstream users to meet user needs as much as possible. Pipeline management companies are implementing measures to increase pipeline inspection frequency, utilizing technological means to improve pipeline safety, and ensuring stable gas supply to downstream users.
Tuha Oilfield Company increases natural gas production by tapping into gas sources
Since the start of winter this year, frequent cold air outbreaks have hit Xinjiang, leading to a rapid increase in natural gas consumption. Tuha Oilfield Company has implemented multiple measures to increase natural gas production for users. As of November 25th, the company has cumulatively sold over 800 million cubic meters of natural gas this year, providing strong support for the production and daily life of enterprises and residents in Urumqi and other areas.
Tuha Oilfield primarily supplies natural gas to enterprises and residents in cities such as Urumqi, Turpan, Shanshan, and Miquan. Currently, the company's natural gas users are mainly divided into three groups: users along the Shan-Wu pipeline, users in the Shanshan area, and users in the Turpan area.
To ensure a stable supply of natural gas to users, Tuha Oilfield has advanced the expansion and production projects of the Hongtai and Qiudong gas fields. The increased storage and production have yielded significant results, achieving the production target of 1 million cubic meters of natural gas from the Hongtai and Qiudong gathering stations. Daily natural gas production has increased from 2.44 million cubic meters at the beginning of the year to the current 2.98 million cubic meters. Simultaneously, the company has implemented measures to tap the potential and increase efficiency of gas sources, enhancing the potential of low-yield and high-water-content wells, and employing methods such as drainage gas extraction and compressor pressurization to improve gas extraction in old production areas, maximizing resource utilization. Southwest Oil and Gas Field YuXi operating area communicates with users to resolve supply and demand contradictions
"It's difficult to get gas every winter. Faced with the supply and demand contradiction, the operating area will try its best to fill the gap, working on process measures and old well production to maximize daily gas well output." On November 25th, the manager of the YuXi operating area of the Shunan Gas Mine, Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company, said at a key user gas supply and demand symposium.
On the same day, the YuXi operating area held a key user gas supply and demand symposium in Yongchuan, Chongqing, to resolve the supply and demand contradiction. Participants included 14 key user unit heads and heads of the Jiangjin District, Yongchuan District, and Bishan County Economic and Informatization Commissions.
Faced with the prominent problem of current supply and demand contradictions, relevant officials from the YuXi operating area introduced the current daily production capacity of the gas fields managed by the operating area, as well as the sales volume of natural gas.
The YuXi operating area made suggestions to key users, hoping that these users would arrange equipment maintenance during the winter as much as possible, and that enterprises with the capacity would build gas storage facilities, storing gas during off-peak hours and using it during peak hours. Relevant officials from the operating area guaranteed that they would do their utmost to tap the potential of old wells based on existing production capacity to meet user gas needs. Changchangji pipeline steadily supplies approximately 28 million cubic meters of gas
Since entering the winter operation period, the Changchun Oil and Gas Branch of the Pipeline Company has implemented multiple measures to ensure the stable supply of gas through the Changling-Changchun-Jilin natural gas pipeline (referred to as the "Changchangji pipeline"). As of November 25th, the Changchangji pipeline has cumulatively supplied approximately 28 million cubic meters of gas to Changchun City.
The Changchun Oil and Gas Branch regularly conducts comprehensive inspections and maintenance of equipment, addressing any problems promptly. The branch has established a supervision and inspection mechanism for on-site safety inspections and pipeline patrols, adding a GPS pipeline patrol positioning system. Pipeline management personnel constantly supervise agricultural and industrial patrol personnel, penalizing those who fail to meet work standards. Duty personnel increase patrol frequency as needed, promptly grasping the operating status of equipment.
To alleviate the tight natural gas situation in Jilin Province, the province has increased cooperation with China Petroleum. Jilin Oilfield Company, by increasing oil and gas exploration in the southern Songliao Basin, has made a series of important breakthroughs in deep natural gas exploration and development in the Changling area. On October 16th last year, the Changchangji pipeline project was launched.
